The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Table

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline including angels, demons, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the urban setting.

Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).

The Reason for Division

With an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.

That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are rare.

Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem out of place, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.

The antagonist then settled his debts and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, desires retribution.
  • Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a hostile place.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their position as key figures in the influential clan could help the team reach areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in search of the traitor.

Upcoming Developments

According to the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Questers and Schemers tables.

Fans can expect learning which adventurers will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
